John XXIII Educational Center
John XXIII Educational Center gives Racine kids a free place to land between 2:30 and dinner. Tutoring, mentorship, and enrichment for grades 4 through 12, run as a ministry of St. Leo the Great Parish.
The work was strong. The website wasn’t keeping up. Their old Wix site was hard to edit, the photos looked fake, and the copy tried to talk to parents, donors, and volunteers all at once. So before anything else, we rebuilt the site from scratch.
The Challenge.
The old site was built on a Wix template the team couldn't move inside of. Information went stale because updating it was a fight. Circles didn't line up, photos looked like generic stock, and the copyright footer still read 2022.
The message was the bigger problem. The homepage spoke to everyone, so it landed with no one. The single best thing about the program, free tutoring no other center in Racine offers, was buried under the word "empower."

Our Role.
We rebuilt the site as a fully custom WordPress build, not another template.
1. A Clear Primary Audience
We wrote the homepage for the Racine parent first. It opens on the problem they live with every afternoon, the gap between school letting out and a parent getting home, and shows exactly what their student walks into instead.
2. Their Words, Their Identity
We replaced the generic copy and used "student" throughout, matching how an educational center actually talks. Free, every school day, became the headline instead of an afterthought.
3. A Site They Can Run
We host it, handle the edits, and gave the team training and access for the rest. A custom events module and popups let them feature what's happening now without touching code, and one point of contact handles anything they can't.

The Results.
John XXIII now has a site that looks like the place parents actually visit. Real student photos, a clear next step on every page, and a message a parent understands in seconds.
Just as important, the team isn't fighting their own website anymore. Updates that used to take an afternoon are a quick call or a few clicks. The work they do for Racine kids needed to be seen. Now it is.
